my home nurse mariesa, came to visit me for the last time on tuesday.  i weighed 6 lbs 8 oz.  she said that i looked very good and that she was very happy with how far i had come.  she told mommy she would miss me and i will miss her too.  i went to my pediatrician on thursday and when he weighed me i was 6 lbs 12 oz.

6a00d8341ce43053ef00e55355ad288833-350wi growing like a weed!  i am eating a bunch more too. i now eat 2 and a half ounces every 3 hours during the day and about every 4 hours at night.

mommy and daddy figured out why my belly button was purple.  yesterday daddy was looking at it and pulled on it a little bit and a stitch came out.  it must have been left in there from when i had iv's in my umbilical cord.  hopefully now it will start to get better and be the cutest belly button ever.

a nice lady from a program called first steps came to the house the other day to see how i am doing developmentally.  she tested to see how long i can hold my head up, if i can grab at objects, how my reflexes are, etc.  preemies often have delayed development which is completely normal.  most of the time it takes until the age of 2 to get "caught up" developmentally.  most people refer to my age as my adjusted age which is how old would be from my original due date.  my adjusted age right now is 2 weeks so developmentally i am really a 2 week old baby.  however, i did so well in my developmental test that i was not accepted into the first steps program.  i guess that is a pretty good problem to have.  mommy and i now have all kinds of play time activities to do during the day to help me be smart and strong as i grow.  we play on my tummy and sing songs and do sit ups.  it's really fun.  i just wish i was awake more during the day to play and play and play….

Adali, I’m also eating every two hours at the moment (sometimes more then that!!)! Let me know when you’re ready and we’ll hit up Micky D’s. (The happy meal toys are pretty cool right now!)

I’m so glad you’re doing so well. I will say some extra prayers for you and your mommy & daddy this week. Look at all the stuff you’ve done already… this surgery will be a piece of cake for a super princess like you!

You are such a beautiful little girl! Glad you guys had a wonderful first “Father’s Day” celebration!!! It’s funny to think that you’re really two weeks old in respect to your size and development. You seem so much bigger and smarter!!!

    Dear Adali Grace:
You are so amazing with all you’ve gone through in your life so far. I know you are going to be so appreciative some day of this photographic journal of your life. You’ll probably never have a clue how many people are praying for you, Mommy & Daddy and the rest of your family every day – but that’s ok! We’re so pleased to see how much you have grown and you just get more beautiful all the time, too! It was kind of amazing to think of you as only 2 weeks old (developmentally), but that makes a lot of sense. Well, hopefully, that will be the only “club” you aren’t aren’t accepted into in your life!

We’ll be keeping you, the medical personnel caring for you and all the family in our prayers for your surgery tomorrow. And, like always, we’ll await the next segment of the blog to get updated on how you are doing. Please tell Mommy how much we enjoy the frequent updates and especially the pictures. By the way, you certainly look a lot like your Daddy!

    Lots of love,
    Lisa & John

Glad to hear your first Father’s Day went well. They get “funner” as Adali gets older :) Until your next blog, talk to ya later Miss Adali!
    Love,
