thursday, august 7

my reflux has continued to get worse and now i am all but refusing to eat.  mommy and daddy took me to see my pediatric gi yesterday.  they did an abdominal ultrasound on me to see if my vomiting may be caused by something called pyloric stenosis.  the test came back negative.  the doctor's seem to think that because my esophagus has become so irritated from the acid constantly coming up that i don't want to eat because it burns so much.  mommy and daddy try and at least get 24 ounces of formula in me every day, yesterday i only ate about 7.  to prevent me from becoming too dehydrated and to give me some medicine, they admitted me back to cardinal glennon last night.  they started me on IV fluids and also gave me nexium through my IV to try and heal my esophagus.  they are hoping this motivates me to eat more today.  if not, i may need to have a feeding tube put in to make sure i get the calories and nutrients to continue to become a strong princess.  we will see what the next few days tell us but please pray that i get all better really quick so i can go back home.  i think lexi misses me.

love and fairy dust,

adali grace

    Miss Adali,

I’m so sorry you’re not feeling well and are back in the hospital. I’m sure it’s no fun for you. Mommy & Daddy probably aren’t real happy about having to take you back to the hospital, either; but they know what’s best for you and hopefully you’ll be feeling better in no time. : ) We’ll continue to pray for your health, Adali Grace, and that you’re able to go home SOON!! We’ll also pray that Mommy & Daddy receive the strength they need to help you (and themselves) during this challenging time.

    Love & Prayers,
    Ashley

Awwww Man! Back in the hospital!?!?!?! Well, we’d all rather you back in the hosptial, getting better than at home not growing stronger. The nurses and doctors took care of you and your mommy and daddy so well when you were born that i know they’ll try everything in their power to get you back on track and back to eating (you HAVE to eat, Adali!). And not to mention we’ll all be praying for you! We love you very much and we’ll definitely keep an eye on your princess castle while you’re away.
    xoxo
Princess Addison & her mommy & daddy :)
