saturday, january 3

we just got back from taking adali to get her third rsv shot and we left with some disappointing news.  she has only gained 2 ounces in the past month and now weighs 14lbs 14oz.  are you kidding me?!?!  2 ounces?!?!?!  i'm trying not to get too down about it.  afterall, she is doing very well developmentally.  i just can't help but get frustrated.  yes, every day is still a struggle to get her to take in the appropriate amount of calories and nutrients, but lately we have felt that there is light at the end of the tunnel.  things seemed to be getting easier.  just when we start to relax and feel like we are headed in the right direction with her eating, we get a swift kick back to reality.

our next appointment with our pediatrician is january 16.  we will discuss it with him then and see if there is anything to be worried about.  seriously, i'm not sure what else we could even do.  i feel like all we do all. day. long.is feed the child.  i know there are many parents of preemies that check in on adali.  if any of you have struggled with feeding and weight gain and know of anything we can do that we may not have already tried, please let us know.

on a brighter note…lots of this over the past few months…..(gnaw gnaw gnaw, chew chew chew)
