thank you so much for all of your suggestions regarding our little ant problem.  we heeded your advice and, from what we can tell, they have no longer decided to take up residence in the playroom.  hallelujah.

as for the mosquitos, we opted for the au naturale approach…

Adali lizard1

this little fella has decided to befriend adali and hang on our porch for awhile.  adali is very curious about him…from a safe distance of course…

Adali lizard3

she is the one who always finds him, no matter what color he has turned, and points him out to me.  i don't mind if he hangs around at all as long as he fills his little green belly with as many blood sucking mosquitos as he can.

oh and did you hear the fabulous news?  i have been nominated for the prestigious mother of the year award.  yeah, that's right.  it's for my heroic act yesterday afternoon.  adali, lexi and myself were on the patio when i decided we had better head back in before lexi discovered the reptile on the back of the chair.  i was standing in the doorway, lexi was already in the house and adali was sloooowly moseying her way toward us when out of the corner of my eye i spotted what appeared to be our lizard friend getting ready to make a leap for it straight into the house.  and i did what any heroic mother would do, i slammed the door as quickly as i could in adali's face leaving her to fend for herself against the giant beast on the chair.  if you would like to vote for me you can head on over to www.itotallysuckasamother.com and click on my name.

much love,
