this past weekend was one of my favorites since we have been in georgia.  the weather was absolutely gorgeous and on saturday we took a little trip to a place called hilltop stables, located on the military base here.  our goal; ride the ponies….make memories.  i think you would agree we were pretty darn successful.

this is spot.

   this is adali.

spot meet adali, adali meet spot

a pony ride would not be complete unless, well, you looked like a cowgirl right?

 Ponie collage

pink plaid shirt, check!  wranglers, check!  studded belt, check!  pink cowboy boots, check!

adali noticed the horses as soon as we got there.

she would repeat over and over again, "love horses (meaning she wanted to hug and kiss them)," "pet horses," ride horses."  and although she seemed very eager i wasn't sure how well this whole thing would work out.

but when adali finally mounted was placed on spot her eyes immediately bulged and i think we all became a little nervous.  and for the first 30 seconds she reacted exactly how i expected which was, "mama, i was just kidding when i said i wanted to ride the horsey.  this thing is way bigger than me, kind of smells and doesn't really enjoy me on his back…off, off, off."  but, as soon as we started to walk around she became a natural and just swayed back and forth letting spot do all the work.  that's my girl.  i swear i'm not being biased when i say she was a natural.

her smile grew with every step spot took.

she was even nice enough to let spot stop and get a bite to eat.

every time i look at this picture it makes me smile…

…he was so proud of her.

we went with one of adali's best friends marley.  he's all she ever talks about.  sweet, but we have our eye on him.  wink wink.

i made a promise to adali when she was still in the nicu that if she fought hard for me that i would try my hardest to give her every opportunity in the world.  georgia may not have been a place we would have chosen but it has provided some great experiences for all of us.

here's to many more adventures…

much love,

mama a

LOVE the outfit! I had not idea they made Wranglers that size. Amazing pictures as always!

Seriously – I never thought I would see the day that a child of Jamie Schwerman’s was in wranglers!!! :-) Totally cute and glad she liked it. Abby has just started asking tons of questions about horseback riding…. she saw pictures from my youth when I would go riding and now she wants to try it, luckily we have family and friends with horses – so it shouldn’t be hard to find the opportunity for her when the weather turns here.

I love it! Looks like a fun time. Kayla just started riding lessons and is in love with it. I will warn you it is an expensive hobby. I want to come to Georgia just to go to this place and of course to see you!

Looks like she had a great time! Don’t let Sabian in on the little Wranglers secret – he’ll be vying for some for Addie in no time!

So cute but what an experience!

Tiffany (and anyone else for that matter), we would welcome you with open arms anytime! Plus, horse back riding is cheap at hilltop. It was $5 for us to lead spot around through the woods, in the arena and on the grounds for 30 minutes. They have trail rides several times a day as well for super cheap. This place got 4 stars from us…very clean, friendly and knowledgeable staff and great horses.

Jayme, wranglers can be found in the teeniest of sizes at farm supply stores. Adali’s outfit came from her Gaga and Bapa for Christmas and the jeans are size 12 months with adjustable waistband. The whole giddyup came from a farm supply store.

Sara, before I actually had a child I would have probably said that you would never see them in Wranglers, but they are too cute, I couldn’t resist.

Get out with the teeny tiny pink boots! LOVE!
