thank you all so much for your kind words and congratulations!  jastin and i have been so overwhelmed with the response to our announcement.  it is so fun to see others share in our excitement.  crazy.

i have so many fun things to blog about that we have been up to this summer but i have had a lot of questions about the big announcement so i figured it would be fun to fill in the blanks.

first, i have had a ton of questions on how i created our announcement.  it's simply an animated gif i created in photoshop.  i had been wanting to try and create one for some time now and this was a very amateur attempt at it but i think it turned out fun.

next…baby details:

** as of today i am 14 weeks along.  and i can't help but think that with adali this would mark the halfway point in the pregnancy.  for some reason that is just CRAZY to me.  i completely intend to make it past 28 weeks this time around.  lord help me if i don't.

** we actually found out we were expecting the morning after the march for babies.  it was a really special moment shared by all 3 of us.

** we did need fertility help for us to conceive.  i am not ashamed to say that at all. it is what it is.

** we found out at our 8 week appointment that is was twins.  jastin literally fell off his chair when we saw them on the ultrasound.  i was in complete shock and don't think i said a word for the next 8 hours.  jastin had to keep asking me if i was ok.  it was a lot for me to process but now that the initial shock has warn off i'm getting really excited.  my inner voice has gone from "holy s*** we are having twins." to holy S*** we are having twins!"

** i am glad to be in the second trimester.  every day i feel like i'm getting my energy back and the morning sickness is subsiding.

** i am being followed by both my normal ob as well as a perinatologist (high risk ob).  yes, this is considered a high risk pregnancy because of the preeclampsia and HELLP i suffered while pregnant with adali.  being pregnant with twins doesn't exactly help the cause but i am optimistic that everything will continue to go smoothly.  so far my blood pressure has been perfect.  i feel very blessed to be in the care of such great physicians.  both of them were there for our journey with adali and i know that all 3 of us are in great hands with them.

** we will be finding out the sexes of the babies.  i am too much of a planner not to.

i think that pretty much answers any questions that i have been asked so far.  i promise to keep the blog updated on pregnancy progress but don't expect belly shots every week.  they may make there way on here every once in awhile but i don't want to scare people away.

and lastly i have to say that i know there are so many more women out there that are still struggling with infertility, many of them i consider to be dear friends.  i know there were a lot of people praying for jastin and i and we feel we have been blessed beyond measure on this journey by your support and prayers.  i ask that you continue to keep those still struggling in your prayers as well.  i know they would appreciate it as much as jastin and i did.

much love,

mama a
