{all pictures were taken this morning before our 18 week appointment}

today i am 18 weeks along with these little babes.  crazy how time flies once you feel well.  if all goes according to plan this marks the halfway point of this pregnancy.  holy.cow.

there are a few things i want to make sure i get out now before i forget the fun little details of this pregnancy.

until very recently i found it hard to bond with the babies.  i felt like bad news was waiting around every corner or at every appointment…so far, not the case.  it has been nothing but amazingly good news which has allowed me to finally let down my guard and begin to enjoy the pregnancy and the tiny beings that are fluttering around inside of me.

speaking of fluttering i first felt at least one of the babies move right around 14 weeks.  i know they say you shouldn't be able to feel them until 16 weeks but i was dead sure i was feeling them.  dr. p backed up my feelings and said that i was probably dead on.  now, it seems they never stop moving.  it's like a wild party going on in there.

they are 100% sure they are fraternal twins not identical (that was for you sandy…i don't think i ever answered that question).

i don't really have any crazy cravings.  i have been enjoying all of the fresh goodness that comes out of our garden every day.  as jastin reminds me daily…i just might turn into a tomato if i keep it up.  but really they are sooooo good, i can't help it.  i do crave sweet things but unfortunately (or fortunately for my waist line) my body absolutely will not tolerate sugar {insert very sad face here}.

i now have some sort of doctor's appointment every 2 weeks.  this is an amazing peace of mind but i have to remember to allocate enough time in my day for these appointments as they take twice as long as any appointment i ever had with adali.

as of today each of the babies weighs 10 ounces.  that is 1/3 the size of adali when she was born.  wild.

today was the big appointment.  the one where they check all the vital organs and take a looksy between the ole legs. my anxiety going into the appointment was high for 2 reasons.  first, i just wanted everything to be ok with both babies, next i didn't want jastin to breakdown if it was 2 girls.  it's no secret he really wanted a boy to be in there.  let's face it decision making would not go well if it were 2 girls.

he got his wish…

and then some!

we will be adding two boys to the antisdel gang!  holy crap we are having 2 boys.  2 boys.  2 freaking boys.  oh my word.

oh and how did adali take the news of 2 boys?  check back tomorrow for her priceless reaction!

much love,

mama a

    Congrats! So exciting for you all! I am glad to read that you are feeling good and that your pregnancy is going well. I am pretty sure my reaction to finding out I had a baby brother was very similar to Adali’s! I have a feeling her reaction will be very different once those cute little boys arrive!
