i figured i better get this up before i'm no longer officially 26 weeks anymore.  last thursday i had my 26 week appointment with both my regular physician and my perinatologist.  i got an a+.  again everything looked perfect, including the babes!  baby a measured 2 lbs 1 oz and baby b measured 2 lbs 2 oz.  and yes that puts both babes bigger than what adali was when she was born at 28 weeks.  although gestational age is far more important than weight, that was a fun little bit of news to celebrate.

baby a is still head down and was facing backward (toward my spine) while baby b is still head up and facing forward (toward my front).  and yes, they still move around a lot.  it has just changed from little moves/kicks to whopping, sometimes take your breath away jabs.

i still feel good (comparitively speaking to my pregnancy with adali) but i'm beginning to notice the energy level go down some.  {sad face} i liked having endless amounts of energy.  i'm trying really, really hard to slow down more as this past month has been a whirlwind but life doesn't seem to slow down even though you are pregnant.  must.find.balance.  i also feel like i need to put a disclaimer on these posts that objects in mirror (aka my belly) may appear larger in real life.  i don't edit these pics whatsoever, however, they are usually taken first thing in the morning and trust me when i say that by the end of the day the belly is significantly larger…just ask jastin…he'll be the first to tell you just how far it sticks out…god love him.

this past weekend we finished the majority of the nursery.  {happy dance} we still have little odds and ends to do over the next few weeks but i am so excited and happy with how it's turning out.  now i just need to figure out how we are going to fit 3 car seats in our car (small suv) and i will feel like we can really do this.

a lot of people have asked if adali is coming around.  she is all in now.  she loves feeling the babies kick, talking to them, and planning for them.  whenever she plays with her baby dolls it's always in two's.  2 in the stroller, 2 in the highchair, 2 in the crib.   and she asks every day if today is the day the babies come.  i know we will have a period of her adapting to them really being here but i think she is going to be the best little mama and big sister to them.  can't wait.

as of tonight i'm closer to 27 weeks than 26 and i'm so thankful to have made it this far…and so hopeful to make it much farther.

much love,

mama a

update on traci ~ i have some very, very exciting news to share about traci.  her doctor was so pleased with how she had been doing and her lack of contractions that last week she got to go home to try and finish out her bedrest there.  she is now about 29.5 weeks.  this is just another example of the power of prayer…i have no doubt.  i promise to continue to update on her progress, and again just know that no news is good news.

Jamie, really excited to hear the news about Traci. Thanks for sharing. You look great, as always, no matter how far Jastin says your belly sticks out ;) So glad to hear Adali is excited about the babies! That is a huge, encouraging step.
