antisdel family easter2

it’s quiet.  jastin is sound asleep and the boys have settled in for the night in their positions on my side of the bed.  ames always on the left, emry always on the right.  i wanted to take a quick moment while the only thing i can hear are the thoughts in my head to say thank you all for your words of encouragement, advice and offers to help.  they mean more to me than you will ever know.  the days still seem to be zipping by with me wondering where the time went and how i managed to get so little done but i seem to have found an air pocket to catch my breath and find my footing again.

we survived a trip to illinois with all 3 kids.  it wasn’t the first and won’t be the last, but we survived this one.  i survived a trip to the pediatrician’s office today for 3 well-check appointments and 3 antisdels needing vaccines {thank you mom for your help}.  i survived an evening with 2 babies who would.not.stop.screaming and a toddler who didn’t seem phased by the jet engine decibel levels but who insisted on having everything right this second.  i survived.  i can do this.

i can’t help but think back to this time last year and realize how desperate i was to be in this exact spot…busy, knee deep in diapers, baby cries and calls for mama to make it all better.  i wish i could go back in time and tell myself that it will all be ok.  you will get your wish and your prayers will finally be answered.  which means that in no time at all i will have an empty house and remember back to these hectic times and want to go back and tell myself to slow down.  take a deep breath.  do your best and enjoy it all.

it may not be pretty but it’s pretty damn real.

I was just thinking about you and hoping everything was going well. The Easter photo you posted is just so special. You look amazing (damn you), Adali looks like a little angel and the boys… well, they are growing up and looking more and more like little people.
Keep on taking each day at a time, minute at a time, second at a time. Baby steps if you need to. Lots of people are thinking and praying for you.
Stay strong and enjoy those precious babies!
